Taking the first step into a new gym can be the hardest part of a fitness journey. It's normal to feel a mix of excitement and nerves. What's the vibe like? Will I know what to do?
At Natty Gym, we get it. That's why we built our gym to be different. Our entire philosophy is "Your Fitness Partner," and that partnership starts before you even walk through the door.
Our job is to make you feel welcome, confident, and supported from the second you arrive. Here's a simple guide on what to expect on your first day at our Ruiru, Membley, or Kahawa Sukari locations.
Step 1: What to Pack
Let's make this easy. You don't need much.
- Comfortable Workout Clothes: A t-shirt, shorts, or leggings—whatever you feel most comfortable moving in.
- Good Shoes: A pair of trainers (sneakers) is perfect.
- A Water Bottle: We have spots to refill it and stay hydrated.
- A Small Towel: To wipe down equipment and for yourself.
That's it. We provide the rest, from a clean, safe environment to all the equipment you'll need.
Step 2: The Friendly Welcome
When you arrive, you'll be greeted by our front desk team. This is not a high-pressure sales team; this is your support staff.
We'll get you checked in (whether it's for your Free 1-Day Pass or your new membership) and offer you a quick, no-pressure tour. We'll show you:
- Our sparkling clean changing rooms and secure lockers.
- The main gym floor (cardio, free weights, machines).
- Our group class studios.
We're here to answer any questions you have, like, "Where's the water fountain?" or "How does this locker work?"
Step 3: The Gym Floor (Our Judgment-Free Zone)
This is our promise: Natty Gym is a supportive, friendly, and judgment-free space. Our community is built for beginners and families, which means everyone here was once on their "first day" too.
You'll see people of all fitness levels. You'll also see our trainers on the floor—they're the friendly ones in Natty Gym shirts. They are there to help you.
A great "first day workout" is just about getting comfortable. We recommend:
- A 10-minute walk or light jog on the treadmill to warm up.
- Trying a few of the "pin-loaded" machines (they have simple instructions on them).
- A 5-minute cool-down and stretch.
And if you're not sure how a machine works? Please ask us. We would love to show you. That's what a partner is for.
Your Journey Starts Now
See? Not so scary.
Your first day isn't about setting a personal record. It's about showing up for yourself. Our promise is to be the partner that keeps you showing up. We'll provide the clean facilities, the "fully packed" equipment, and the supportive community.
You just bring the good attitude. Welcome to the family.
